Tea made in Japan is unlike tea made anywhere else. For centuries the Japanese have cultivated a tea culture and technology for producing the sweetest, most vibrant, green teas. At Samovar, we are honored to have developed relationships with some of Japan’s leading growers and producers of organic tea. Flavor Profile: Rich and buttery with sweet, leafy green notes - vaporous aromas that hint at fresh baked bread and a summer ocean breeze. This deep steamed, Fukimushi-style sencha has a thicker, silkier mouthfeel than other styles of sencha like Asamushi and Chumushi.

Flavor Profile: Forward notes of toasted brown rice crisps met with sweet green flavors that suggest grass and kelp. This tea is roasty delicious, full bodied, milky, and slightly malty.

Flavor Profile: The variegated, deep green bits of leaf that comprise tencha are traditionally ground into matcha, but they can also be brewed on their own. It has a mild aroma and a clear, distinct, straightforward flavor with thick notes of umami-rich wakame, cream, malt and toast followed by a delicate, vegetal aftertaste. Flavor Profile: Matcha Hekisui is a super-fine, creamily smooth, vibrant, spring green powder that can be whisked into usucha (thin tea) or the more robust koicha (thick tea).
